An ocean all so calm; no noise, no movement as far as the eye could see. Suddenly a quiver....so slight, easy to be missed, unless a trained eye knew what they were looking for. This time another quake, and another, and another. Waves were moving through the ocean. Uncontrollable angry waves that glided with ease over the surface of the sea. They leave a trail of agony, happiness, and anger. They tell a story.
There are not always rainbows, butterflies, or sappy dreams that we once had as children. Sure they exist, but this story revolves around a painful reality. Soon more waves follow. Crashing the tide. The pain etching into something greater. Now there is nothing but absolute agony. The pain becoming unbearable. Silent tears begin to fall. The siren blares, while the world freezes. Somehow an empty feeling takes precedence. Spinning and spinning until everything is a blur...
Being dizzy doesn't even begin to describe the moral behind this story. Something is barely audible, or something that is that of a whisper heard in the distance. Suddenly out of the blue, it begins screaming so loud, ears bleeding, common sensibility thrown into disarray. Mind in pain, unsure what to do? Everything begins to shut down. The focus wavering while waves thrash around, engulfing their path.
Demons begin to latch onto every limb. The body goes numb. It begins to listen, giving into temptation. Why continue to fight? "Just give in," the voice would whisper. "It is so easy." The thought lingered and became comforting. Succumbing, so rewarding. Allowing the claws to seep into the skin. Why bother fighting an inevitable end. Being numb felt so amazing; emotions never so daring.
It happened so spontaneously, breath sucked out, deep under the sea, you can no longer breathe. You struggle and fight for what seems like eternity. You shout and scream with all your might, people everywhere, but you remain invisible. Why is nobody coming to help? Why can't anyone see that you are drowning? Nobody will save you, so it seems.
Finally you manage to resurface, low on energy, feeling defeated, you are exhausted, but you made it. The exhaustion did it's deed. It wrecked havoc on your body, some damage irreversible, scars left behind.
Back in bed, you once again lay under the sheets that give you comfort that lay you to rest. Eyes closed, darkness returns, all is well, start over again. Goodnight, sweet demon that lay under my bed. I don't need help, I will see you again.
